About Roses & Pines

Welcome to Roses and Pines! I’m Renee, and I’m so glad you’re here.

My business began in 2015 as Renee’s Simple Signs, where I created hand-painted signs and other painted crafts. In the fall of 2021, a sweet friend asked if I would be interested in some old quilts her aunt had found in her mother’s homeplace—quilts that were headed for the trash. Those well-loved pieces sparked a new chapter. I traded my paintbrushes for a needle and thread, and Roses and Pines was born.

Sewing is more than something I love—it’s my therapy and my heritage. I’m from the Appalachian Mountains, where sewing and quilting run deep in my family. As a retired Family and Consumer Sciences—or Home Ec—teacher, I find so much joy in creating with my hands, giving old quilts new purpose, and seeing others enjoy the things I make.

First and foremost, I am a child of the King. I was saved by grace at nine years old, and I continue to lean on that grace every day. I’m far from perfect, but I’m thankful for a God who knows my struggles and meets me with love and forgiveness.

I’ve been married to the love of my life for 32 years. Together, we have three beautiful children, two daughters-in-love, one son-in-love, a grandson, and two bonus granddaughters. We’re excited to welcome our fourth grandbaby in 2027!

God has blessed me beyond measure, and my prayer is that He will use this little business to bless others. Every piece I make carries a bit of my heart, my heritage, and my love for creating.

Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for being here and supporting Roses and Pines.

With love,

Renee
